gpt-researcher's writer agent produces a report from the pages its searcher found, with citations on every claim and an honest account of where the sources disagree. This tool is that writer without the searcher: you bring the sources — articles, excerpts, your own measurements, meeting notes — and a question, and it writes the report, the outline that a report would follow, or an annotated list of what each source establishes and how far to trust it. Nothing comes from memory: a fact no source supports is left out or marked as an inference, and what the sources do not cover gets its own heading, which is often the most useful part.

How it works

  • Sources are numbered in the order pasted and cited as [1], [2] after every factual statement; the report ends with a Sources section identifying each.
  • Disagreements are presented side by side with a judgement of which source is better supported and why — recency, directness, authority — rather than averaged away.
  • Numbers, dates and names are kept exactly as the sources give them; a URL pasted without its text is listed as a source that could not be read.

Where your data goes

With your own key, what you type and the key go from your browser straight to the provider you choose; neither passes through Hysen Labs. In hosted mode, your text goes through our server to our provider (DeepSeek) and is billed in credits; we keep the token counts and cost of each run for billing, never the text itself or the answer. How the provider handles the text is governed by its own privacy policy.

This tool handles keys and credentials, so nothing about a run is saved, not even to your own history.

About your API key

We do not collect, store or leak your key: it lives only in this page's memory (unless you tick “remember in this tab”) and is gone when you close it. Still, treat any key you have pasted into a web page with care — create a dedicated key with a spending cap for use here, and delete or rotate it in your provider's dashboard when you are done.

What it costs

This tool is free, with no sign-in and no points.

Common questions

Can it search the web for sources?
No — by design. The tools on this site send your text to the model with your own key and never fetch pages on your behalf. Collect the sources yourself (gpt-researcher, a search engine, your notes) and paste them; the writing step is the part that benefits from a model.
How many sources and how long a report?
Four to ten sources of a few hundred words each make a solid 1,000–1,500 word report on current models; more sources mostly improve the disagreement analysis. The outline type is useful when you have many sources and want to decide what to read closely before writing.
What if my sources contradict each other?
That is the case the report type is built for: both positions are stated with their citations, and the report says which is better supported and on what grounds, or that the question is open. A report that silently picks one side is the failure mode this avoids.

The open-source behind it

This tool's prompt is adapted from assafelovic/gpt-researcher (Apache-2.0) and runs on the model you choose. To use the same capability from the command line or inside your own program, start with that project.
