Subagent

A subagent is a smaller AI helper that a main AI assistant creates to handle one focused task and report back.

Think of a subagent as a helper inside an AI tool. The main assistant breaks a job into pieces and assigns a narrow task to a subagent with its own instructions, such as checking details or drafting a section. The subagent returns its result for the main assistant to review and combine. This matters because it can make complex requests easier to manage and keep the main conversation cleaner. But check the final answer, since mistakes can happen when work is split and passed around. For example, an assistant planning an event might ask one subagent to list supplies and another to suggest a schedule, then merge both answers.
