Meta introduces F3 Lightning to speed ads ML feature releases

Meta detailed F3 Lightning, an infrastructure layer built on top of its Facebook Feature Framework (F3), which compiles and serves the machine learning features behind ads ranking models. F3 Lightning separates the release boundary from the execution boundary, so each feature is compiled, validated, deployed and rolled back on its own, while a shared execution plan assembled at startup keeps the compute savings. Meta says comparable extraction features now reach production about 3.6x faster with no increase in infrastructure compute cost.
