Vercel adds DeepSeek Search and Fetch tools to AI Gateway

Vercel's AI Gateway now offers two DeepSeek-built helpers for web lookups. Search returns matching pages with titles, URLs and summaries, while Fetch pulls a page's contents back as Markdown for the model to read. Both work with any model that supports tool calling, run through a single AI Gateway key, and require no DeepSeek account. They are available in AI SDK 6.0.321 or later on v6, and 7.0.160 or later on v7. Vercel notes that Search fallback to other providers is model-directed and best effort, and that Fetch can retrieve URLs returned by those alternative search tools.
