AWS adds India-based inference for Moonshot's Kimi K3 on Bedrock
Amazon Web Services now offers in-country inference in India for Kimi K3, the open-weight, multimodal foundation model from Moonshot AI, on Amazon Bedrock. AWS says traffic between Regions stays encrypted on its own network. The model reads images and PDFs directly, so scanned documents can be queried without a separate OCR or translation service. The India option is available now to Bedrock customers, subject to the required IAM permissions and Region settings.
Why it matters
Teams with strict data residency rules in India can now use this model through Bedrock without sending inference abroad, and can hand scanned documents to the model directly instead of running separate OCR or translation tools.
