AWS makes Web Answer generally available on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
Amazon Web Services announced the general availability of Web Answer, a managed connector on the Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gateway that returns a synthesized, source-cited answer to a natural-language question in a single tool call. Web Answer plans and runs several web searches in parallel, reads pages to verify facts, searches again when evidence is thin, and ties each grounded claim to a source URL. Agents call it over the Model Context Protocol, with the Gateway handling authentication through its own service role and the bedrock-agentcore:InvokeWebAnswer permission. It is available in US East (N. Virginia) at 10 transactions per second per account, invocations are billable, and it works with any MCP-compatible client, including Strands Agents, LangChain, LangGraph and CrewAI.
Why it matters
Agent builders no longer have to write and maintain their own search, retrieval, synthesis and citation pipeline for factual questions, and returned answers carry citations that trace back to a source URL.
