Ampersand from Humans& arrives on Vercel's AI Gateway

Humans&'s Ampersand, a language model built for group conversations such as team chats, is now available through Vercel's AI Gateway, free of charge through November 13, 2026. On each turn the model decides whether to add something or stay quiet, and applications expose those options as two function tools they define and execute: send_message posts a contribution, while pass leaves the thread silent until the next human message. Tool choice should be left at its default, since Ampersand accepts auto and none but rejects required and named settings. Developers reach it under the model name humansand/ampersand-v0.1 via the AI SDK, an OpenAI-compatible Chat Completions API, or coding agents including Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.
