Hugging Face adds Egyptian and Nigerian English to Open ASR Leaderboard

Hugging Face's Open ASR Leaderboard now includes two private test sets for Egyptian and Nigerian English, contributed through a collaboration with Liva AI. The data sits in the leaderboard's Private tab and is intended to give a held-out check on automatic speech recognition models rather than let teams tune to public test sets. The leaderboard also introduced accent breakdowns based on Kachru's Three Circles, comparing US with non-US English and Inner Circle countries with Outer and Expanding Circle ones. Liva AI gathers multimodal interaction data from consumer products.
